The plot:

I no longer want to pretend to be the person I'm not, just to make a good impression. I'll be myself and I'll be for me.

December has arrived and Natalie knows very well what this means: to leave her beloved New York and return to London to attend the famous annual charity gala to be held in the family villa. If it weren't for one insignificant little inconvenience: her boyfriend. Yes, because Natalie has promised that this year she will bring with her her wonderful partner who ... does not exist!

Tired of being cornered by her sister and frowned upon by her parents for not having found a husband yet, she decides to pay a guy she met in a bar good money to pretend to be her boyfriend.

Zac, a cook by profession and a bottomless womanizer in his spare time, is in a rather delicate economic position and, for this reason, the restaurant he opened with his best friend risks closing its doors if he doesn't settle his accounts with the bank.

Embittered by the situation, he spends his evenings among women and drinks in the clubs of the Big Apple, when in one of these he finds the solution to all his problems.

Between a saboteur sister, a meddling journalist, and two parents to make the FBI department envious, Natalie and Zac will have to resort to every method to keep the cover up!

Natale sotto copertura is the story of Zac and Natalie. Natalie, a doctor from a wealthy family who cares more about social opinion, while Zac is a cook on the verge of bankruptcy with a fear of commitment. The two meet at a party where Natalie asks him to accompany her to London to her annual family gala as her fake boyfriend. This is because, in a moment of anger at the umpteenth question about where her boyfriend was, she invented the existence of an American lawyer with brown hair and green eyes: Zac's exact description (apart from the profession). This opportunity would be profitable for both: Natalie would silence her relatives, Zac would pay off the restaurant's debt to the bank.

But being able to convince everyone is a tough challenge because, even if the story seems to have satisfied the parents (the father's a little suspicious but never manages to unmask the deception), the sister's determined to play all of her cards in order to reveal the lie, even at the cost of making Natalie suffer by bringing to light stories and feelings that, by now, the protagonist thinks she has overcome.

Between one quarrel and another, the two make it through the week, and it's precisely at this point that things get complicated, when Zac doesn't cash the check given to him by Natalie to thank him, thus risking losing the restaurant; when Natalie pays the restaurant debt to the bank because she was at the restaurant when a bank employee entered; or even when Nats and Mike (Zac's partner) change the restaurant menu without the latter's knowledge.

Only when Natalie risks never waking up again due to an accident, Zac realizes that all this she did was only to help him and not to make him feel inferior.

The writing of @Larathomson07 (username Wattpad) is simple and flowing, so much that, once you start it, it keeps you hooked until the end. The story of the two protagonists is so turbulent, due to the pressure exerted by the parents on Natalie, and dotted with quarrels (simply because what they do doesn't seem to be enough to convince everyone, when in the end it becomes known that no one actually believed to their story and that they had initially only accepted it to keep public opinion high).
