The plot:
Don't believe it, little Nancy, just fall in love and drag me with you wherever that feeling takes us.
Nancy is a young Italian woman who moved to New York to work as an intern at Fitzgerald Publishing.
She soon realizes that her dream isn't so easy to achieve, because the competition is so great and she has to settle for sharing a two-room apartment with a friend.
Three days before Christmas, unexpected news from her throws her into a panic: her family is coming to surprise her and she has to deal with the flood of lies that she has invented.
Darren is the editor of the Dark Romance line in which Nancy works, he's leaving for the Christmas holidays but a snowstorm cancels his flight; when he returns home, an unpleasant surprise awaits him.
Indovina chi arriva a Natale is the story of Nancy and Darren, the two know each other when she's moved to the Dark Romance section of the publishing house where she works, where he's the boss. However, Nancy with her reserved character does not like working in this section, which intimidates and embarrasses her not a little, which Darren enjoys a lot. Precisely for this reason Darren enjoys calling her in the office and making her read aloud part of her novels that they have to review, although they don't need to do it together.
When the Christmas holidays arrive, however, Nancy has a problem: she lied to her family and she said she has a boyfriend named Darren; she must therefore devise the perfect plan so that she is not discovered, especially since her family decides to surprise her to celebrate the holidays together.
She's served the perfect opportunity when Darren tells her he's vacationing away from New York so she'll have her fake boyfriend and the penthouse they supposedly live in together. But due to a blizzard Darren is forced to return home, which is invaded by relatives of Nancy.
This novel is a Christmas story but also an office romance, an (unexpected for him) fake dating, and is seasoned with the typical lightness of this kind of story, so much so that it makes you feel that typical atmosphere of this period without forgetting to add the romantic touch, funny and passionate of novels.
I loved the couple formed by Darren and Nancy, with their completely opposite characters that lead them to clash with each other over everything; Darren with being cheeky, who enjoys teasing Nancy, more reserved and shy, but who brings out the strongest and wildest part of her when she's in the same room with her boss.
