The plot:

When you fall and reach the bottom to get back up you will have more effort than you think.

Winter Snowflake is the most optimistic and kindest person on the face of the Earth. She loves everything that makes people happy and, among these, there's also Christmas; on August 15th she could even decorate the tree without worrying about the judgment of others.

Nothing can ruin her holidays and turn off her enthusiasm, not even the awkward and unhappy encounter with Axel White, an arrogant handsome who is exactly her nemesis.

Axel is a Grinch, a despicable person, who would barricade himself at home throughout the Christmas period, without showing any repentance.

Randomness wants, however, that Axel and Winter meet at the mall shop where she works as a saleswoman. And, after she throws the whole box of red, glittery, snowflake-filled decorations at him, neither of them will have much pleasure in seeing each other again. But fate thinks otherwise, so they'll find themselves, once again, discussing their future. This is where Winter comes up with the crazy idea of wanting to convince Axel to love Christmas. For her it's yet another advent calendar that she can discard and complete, for him it's the worst nightmare that someone could make him the protagonist of.

But what if among those 'boxes' there were also many small Cupid's arrows waiting for them? Well, things would change. Well, if they would change…

Winter and Axel couldn't be more different: one is a Grinch, the other a Santa's elf. The two already know each other, working in the same mall, but they just can't see each other, especially after he ruins her Christmas party the previous year. Also this year Christmas Eve is getting closer and faster and so is the party that Winter has to organize. There's a problem though: she can't find any Santa who is willing to help her. So she decides to propose a bet to Axel to prove to him that he can enjoy the Christmas period: if he wins, he keeps the money collected during these 24 days, if she wins, however, he has to be Santa Claus for the children at the party at the mall. And so begins their personal advent calendar, between ice skating, decorating the tree and the house, building gingerbread houses and watching the most popular Christmas films.

The Grinch Axel, however, can't fully let go of his resentment of Christmas because of what that day took away from him and is in danger of falling back when his sister suffers an accident. Underneath this sentiment, however, there's much more than what Axel shows and only thanks to Winter he's able to gradually understand how much he has actually remained attached to the past, precluding himself from a lot of new experiences.

Scommetti che ti faccio amare il Natale? is a Christmas story set in the frenetic and magical New York fully decorated for the period, in the New York told by books and films and that everyone would like to visit at least once in their life, especially in this period. Winter and Axel take us with them to visit it, to live it, to appreciate it and to love it.

I adored the character of Winter, a sweet and sunny girl, in which I found myself a lot, above all because we both love Christmas and can't wait for anything else throughout the year, especially when the cold starts and the fireplace is lit. In fact, like her, I always try to make people change their minds about the Christmas period and introduce them to the culture of Christmas, always listening to new songs and filming all the best Christmas films ever released every year.

Miss Ansia managed once again to make me love one of her books and made me feel part of this story through Winter and not to disappoint the expectations I had of this novel. The writer has given us an ideal book for this perio, funny and original, which contains all the Christmas spirit and atmosphere, to be read in one breath.
