The plot:

Cade and Mare have always known each other; she has always had a crush on Cade, he began to see Mare with different eyes only after years, but before anything happened between the two other years passed. Mainly because Cade is the older brother of Pippa, Mare's best friend.
These two are the definition of "right person, wrong time" the first time they get together, as Mare has to move to Chicago to start college with Pippa and Cade doesn't believe in long distance relationships. In order not to keep her Cade then decides to break up with her. For this reason Mare will only return to Sutten on a sad occasion for the Jennings family.
I loved the jump between the past and present which helps to better understand how the dynamic has played out and shows the growth of the characters from children to adults.
Did I expect to cry? No
It happened? Yes, on the other hand this book was ABSOLUTELY not what I expected.
Did I expect in the final part Pippa and Camden together? No
Was I hoping so? Obvious.
Let's also hope it's the next book because they sparked since the BT&WL post epilogue, but the scene (the second time they appear together) in ROS was *chef kiss*.
Bonus point 1: Kat's character stories intertwine as Nash Pierce and Anticipation Rising from The Mixtape series. Pippa and Mare are die-hard fans of the band.
Bonus point 2: as in Black Ties and White Lies the first time of Cade and Mare is not told in one chapter but in three chapters (and in detail 😉).
